Richmond Lock is situated on the banks of the River Thames at Twickenham, within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is located just off the Thames Promenade on the river path. Its main shopping street is Church Street, which includes independent stores (including a delicatessen and a traditional family butcher) as well as popular high street names.

Twickenham is famous for being the HQ of English rugby, as well as an area that loves sporting pastimes. There is even a popular rugby pub – The Barmy Arms – with views overlooking the river and Eel Pie Island. For more low-key drinks there is The White Swan, dating back to the 17th century, as well as a selection of excellent restaurants.
