Albert Embankment is part of the river bank on the south side of the River Thames in Central London. It stretches approximately one mile northward from Vauxhall Bridge to Westminster Bridge, and is located in the London Borough of Lambeth.

The area was created from land reclaimed from the river during the late 19th century by engineer Sir Joseph Bazalgette. Often described as a unique and historic area of London, Albert Embankment, with its impressive collection of riverside apartment buildings, is becoming a much sought-after area. Artist Damien Hirst is set to open his new gallery in the area in 2015.

Albert Embankment is just a short stroll from Westminster and is also within easy reach of all the amenities of the South Bank and the West End. Westminster is not only home to many of London’s most iconic landmarks and attractions, but also has several theatres and playhouses. Restaurants and eateries are plentiful, with places such as Chino Latino and Madeira Patisserie offering highly rated, fresh, regional fare. Shopping facilities in the area are second to none, with famous names like Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason sitting alongside quirky boutiques and independent stores.

Albert Embankment is ideally located for walking, cycling and relaxing beside the river. A stroll along the banks of this part of the Thames takes in sights such as the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge. Venture a little further and you’ll find the London Eye and the Royal Festival Hall.
