Kew is an area located within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is famous for being the location of the Royal Botanic Gardens – also known as Kew Gardens – which is now classed as a World Heritage Site, and includes Kew Palace. Kew is also the home of important historical documents such as the Domesday Book, which is on public display at The National Archives.
Kew has several shopping streets located in the village and Sandycombe Road. Here you will find mostly independent stores, cafes, restaurants and delicatessens. The Original Maids of Honour on Kew Road is a historic family bakery and tea room rumoured to have been a favourite of Henry VIII. There is also a monthly community farmers’ market held in the centre of the village where locals can purchase fresh, locally sourced produce and household goods. Nearby Kew Retail Park is home to many well-known retailers such as Marks & Spencer and Gap.
