Charter Quay, Kingston KT1

Charter Quay is an exclusive, gated development that offers contemporary living in a historic, beautiful waterside location.

Designed by John Thompson and Partners, Charter Quay is a mixed-use development comprising apartments, commercial units, a gymnasium and a community theatre. The external facades of the buildings are finished with red brick and offset by modern, functional steel balconies. Residents enjoy access to a private fitness centre and on-site business facilities.

With 239 apartments located in six and seven-storey blocks arranged around two pedstrianised squares, and five townhouses situated along the river path, Charter Quay is the most prominent development in the area.

Apartments offer a blend of contemporary living and luxury furnishing, and all have been finished to an exceptional standard. Many apartments have balconies overlooking the River Thames and the exquisitely landscaped Charter Quay Piazza below. The development has communal garden areas and a peaceful rooftop terrace with spectacular water views for residents to enjoy.

Location

Charter Quay is located on the banks of the River Thames at Kingston. The front of the site overlooks the water, while the back is directly adjacent to Kingston town centre – with its ancient market area, quaint cobbled streets and the Rose of Kingston theatre. The town was first mentioned in the year 838 and has royal connections dating back to Saxon times. There are some excellent shops and boutiques on the high street, as well as plenty of choice at the Bentall Centre Shopping Mall.

Charter Quay has its own piazza, with a great range of restaurants, cafes and bars to try. Carluccio’s Italian sits at the heart of the development overlooking the river. Just a short stroll away is Brown’s Bar & Brasserie, a friendly place which is popular with locals.
